With the exponential growth of Central Texas, developers are introducing an exciting new addition to the area: Valley Park! Plans are well underway for a sprawling 600-acre public park within the $2 billion Whisper Valley housing subdivision, located just off SH 130 tollway along FM 973 and extending east of Taylor Ln. Boasting an array of amenities and an $8 million price tag, Valley Park is set to be a vibrant outdoor haven that will elevate the Austin lifestyle.

Visitors can look forward to a comprehensive list of features, such as picnic areas, manicured open spaces, playgrounds, shade structures, restrooms, decomposed granite trails, community gardens, an events amphitheater, benches, beautiful landscaping, and informational signage. Notably, Valley Park will also serve as a central hub for the innovative master trail plan, connecting Austin’s 4,000-acre Walter E Long Metropolitan Park and Lake Walter E. Long, Travis County’s 14-mile trail system, and the East Metropolitan Park through Whisper Valley. This ambitious project will provide residents with approximately 20 miles of connecting trails for endless exploration.

The first phase of Valley Park is set to include the design and construction of extensive 12-ft-wide pedestrian trails, stretching from the community retail center at FM 973 and along Gilleland Creek to Taylor Ln. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2026, with the final design for the first phase slated for completion in 2025. The entire park will be built in seven phases over six years, under the watchful eye of developer Taurus Investment Holdings.

Valley Park represents a significant investment in the future of Central Texas and its residents, providing unparalleled outdoor recreational opportunities for those [moving to Austin](https://austin.localteam.ai/moving-to-austin-texas-the-ultimate-relocation-guide/) and the surrounding region.
