The Austin Independent School District (AISD) is gearing up to kick off a new project that’s bound to make waves in the community. Get ready for the Athletics Building at LBJ Early College High School, located at 5405 Lazy Creek Dr, Austin, TX 78724. This new facility promises to be a game-changer for students and sports enthusiasts alike.

This project is no small feat. We’re talking about a whopping 95,872 square feet of new construction, with an estimated budget of $64 million. That’s right—big dreams and big bucks! The design is courtesy of Michelyn Smith, and Vaughn Construction is set to bring it to life. The project is slated to begin on February 28, 2025, with a completion date of March 31, 2027.

Scope of Work

The new athletics building will come complete with a central plant, a detention pond, modifications and replacement of the existing parking lot, plus all associated site and utility work. In other words, it’s a full-scale upgrade to the current setup, designed to cater to a bright future for LBJ students.
