Alta Leander Station opens
LEANDER – Wood Partners has opened Alta Leander Station, a multifamily complex at 348 Main St. north of Austin.
The community offers 276 studio and one- and two-bedroom units.
Amenities include a resort-style pool, sundeck, kitchen and grilling areas, pet play area, clubhouse, and fitness center.
Galesi developing 300-unit NE Austin apartments
AUSTIN – New York-based Galesi Realty Group LLC has broken ground on Hillside on Partner Ln., a Class A, 300-unit complex in northeast Austin.
The community will have one-, two-, and three-bedroom units ranging from 784 to 1,491 sf.
Construction finishes in March 2024.
Omni Business Park takes off near Austin-Bergstrom
AUSTIN – Development 2000 Inc. has broken ground on phase one of Omni Business Park, a 26-acre speculative project near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
The project represents a $30 million investment and will be built in three phases. The finished site will have 13 warehouses ranging from 8,000 to 20,000 sf.
Phase one calls for 174,000 sf of indoor space and five warehouses. Construction will wrap in second quarter 2023.
Georgetown Heights open for residents
AUSTIN – Wan Bridge has opened Georgetown Heights, a built-to-rent (BTR) community at 512 Northwood Dr.
The community offers three- and four-bedroom duplexes ranging from 1,400 to 2,100 sf. Residents benefit from two-car garages, private yards, smart home packages, and 24-hour maintenance.
Georgetown Heights is part of a multi-billion-dollar expansion plan that will include developments in Houston, Dallas, and Austin suburbs. Wan Bridge looks to break ground on 20 to 30 more Texas BTR communities in the next 12 months.
166-room expansion coming to Hotel Ella
AUSTIN – Rex LLC is planning a $100 million expansion of Hotel Ella at 1900 Rio Grande St.
The expansion will boost the historic hotel from 47 to 213 rooms.
A rooftop garden, underground parking, cigar and scotch bar, basement wine bar, and restaurant will also be added.
Outer Aisle expanding to Texas
KYLE – California-based Outer Aisle Gourmet LLC has leased a 117,000-sf manufacturing facility in the works at 19200 Marketplace Ave.
Construction begins in January 2023 and will take 9-12 months. The facility will create 150 jobs.
Buildout will cost under $25 million.
DISCO sets up shop at new Austin HQ
AUSTIN – Artificial intelligence solution developer DISCO has opened a 46,000-sf headquarters within the One Eleven Congress building downtown.
Forty percent of the company's 600 employees will occupy the space at 1 Congress Ave.
Atlanta-based Cousins Properties owns the building.
The Johnny underway in east Austin
AUSTIN – The Geyser Group and The Sephira Group have broken ground on The Johnny, a multifamily complex at 613 W. St. John's Ave.
The property comprises 76 studio and one- and two-bedroom units. Sixteen are allocated for residents making less than 60 percent of the median area income.
Amenities include a fitness center and rooftop deck with outdoor kitchen.
Construction wraps in January 2023.
AEW purchases Centro South office building
AUSTIN – AEW Capital Management LP has purchased the 164,976-sf Class-A office building at 1412 E. 5th St.
The building, Centro South, was 96 percent leased at the time of sale.
PGIM Real Estate provided the $77 million acquisition loan.
The developer, Riverside Resources, will continue to manage the property.
