AUSTIN – Austin Habitat for Humanity has broken ground on its second affordable housing project on July 8th in Travis County at 6301 Círculo De Amistad along Montopolic Drive in East Austin.

The .69-acre townhome project will consist of six buildings and 12 units. Construction on the first three buildings begins in 2023. The new homes, the first three of which will be built in 2023, are expected to be sold for about $200,000.

Last July, families began moving into the organization’s first development of townhomes located in the Mueller neighborhood north of downtown. Habitat for Humanity sold the homes for about $185,000 when the average price for a home was $500,000. Specifically, in that area, some homes were selling for close to $1 million.
